The Coastside Tennis Association (CTA) purpose is to provide, facilitate and coordinate opportunities for its members and the community to play tennis on the San Mateo Coast. If you need more then 2 hours of light, listen for the bell when time is about to lapse. You will need to insert the second token within 30 seconds to prevent the lights from going out. The lights are halogen, so if they go out, they take a while to gain full intensity. Advice: keep a second token at the receptacle so that whoever is on Court 2 can insert it. Just below the receptacle are three switches for each pair of courts lights. A crazy passionate love for the game drives his enthusiasm for introducing new players of all ages to the game, helping players at all ability levels try to continue improving their technical skills, point tactics or match strategies and you’ll also see him out on the courts playing tennis with anyone looking to get some games in. Jesse is a USPTA tennis professional and has worked with some of the best coaches in the game. He teaches at the HMB HS tennis courts as well as at Player Capital Tennis in Atherton and at Stanford University. He’s also been active in USTA Adult League tennis, playing on and coaching multiple HMB Men’s and Mixed Doubles teams that have competed well in local leagues and advanced to USTA District and Sectional Championship tournaments. In addition to teaching tennis, Jesse is a genuine tennis gear geek! He’ll be happy to explain the technology and physics of tennis elements (can’t help but draw on that MIT background) in terms that any tennis player can understand, appreciate and apply to their own game and gear selection. Devin attended public school on the Coastside and developed his tennis game right here at the HMBHS tennis courts! As a junior player, Devin worked his way to the #1 ranking in USTA Northern California before competing at UC Santa Barbara and later UC Santa Cruz, where he earned All-American honors. He went on to play professional events before shifting his focus to coaching. As a coach, Devin has worked in nearly every tennis setting imaginable—resorts, country clubs, and academies—and with every type of player, from total beginners to top-ranked college and pro athletes. He's shared court time with multiple players ranked #1 in the world and has been hired to travel to the US Open, the NCAAs, and other major events. While Devin comes from a high-performance background, his primary focus is not on building top players—it’s about the people. He cares deeply for his students not just as tennis players, but as individuals. Devin believes that the lessons learned through the game—discipline, resilience, accountability, and perspective—extend far beyond the court. His coaching is aimed at using tennis as a vehicle to help others grow. With that philosophy in mind, Devin founded his own tennis academy, The Morning Crew, following the birth of his son, Liam.
